Mike Furman spoke at the September 22, 2011 Risk Management Seminar regarding Competency in Practice, including: referrals; associations with other attorneys; dangers in office sharing and implied partnerships; problematic areas of practice; docket control procedures; and file retention.

Andrew Jones discussed insurance considerations such as: purchasing appropriate professional liability coverage; the insurance application; claims made coverage generally; coverage for prior acts; the importance of proper and timely notice; and extended reporting periods and lawyer retirement.

New York State Bar AssociationThe seminars take place in five locations across New York State (New York City, Long Island, Westchester, Albany and Rochester), and the faculty consisted of prominent lawyers professional liability practitioners.
