Furman Kornfeld & Brennan LLP's Andrew Jones participates in Street Soccer USA’s annual fundraising NYC Indoor Soccer Tournament. 12/17/2011

On Saturday December 17, 2011, FKB’s Andrew Jones played in the annual 4v4 co-ed Street Soccer USA indoor Tournament on Wards Island. After twenty-four 18-minute games, involving twelve teams from across New York City, many goals were scored both on and off the field.

The goal of Street Soccer USA is to use the power of team sports to help people move off the street, out of shelter, and into sustainable independent living. Through its 20-city league Street Soccer USA aims to get homeless men, women, and youth off the streets, “scoring goals on the field, and achieving their goals in life.” The New York program’s systematic approach is designed to build trust, self-esteem, discipline, and basic financial literacy through sports.
