On November 19, 2010 FKB partner Patrick J. Brennan obtained a jury verdict in favor of a New York City hospital, its chief of rheumatology and chief of hematology and oncology after a marathon 11-week trial involving the alleged wrongful death of a 42 year old man from complications of lupus and catastrophic anticardiolipin antibody syndrome. Claimed damages included 3 weeks of pain and suffering, pecuniary loss, loss of services and loss of parental guidance. The case was tried before Justice Duane Hart of Queens Supreme Court. FKB associates Jennifer Gutterman and Jessica Shenfeld assisted with the defense of FKB's clients.
