Furman Kornfeld & Brennan LLP is pleased to announce that R. Evon Idahosa-Howard and Andrew R. Jones have become partners of the Firm, effective January 1, 2010. 1/1/10

R. EVON IDAHOSA-HOWARD will be based in the Firm's new Westchester office. Prior to joining FKB, Ms. Idahosa-Howard was in private practice with two insurance defense firms in New York. Ms. Idahosa-Howard is a member of FKB's legal malpractice and litigation groups and has extensive experience at both the trial and appellate levels. Over the past eight years, Ms. Idahosa-Howard has successfully defended hundreds of lawyers and law firms in legal malpractice claims of virtually every variety and level of complexity.

Ms. Idahosa-Howard's practice also includes insurance coverage litigation which encompasses the representation of insurers in the U.S. and London markets in complex insurance coverage matters, including marine and non-marine risks and professional liability, as well as the drafting of insurance policies. Ms. Idahosa-Howard has authored and contributed to several articles on legal malpractice, insurance coverage, and insurance defense and is also a contributing writer and speaker for the New York State Bar Association's continuing legal education program.

Ms. Idahosa-Howard is a graduate of the University of Buckingham School of Law in England, where she received the honor of class Valedictorian. She is also a Barrister of England and Wales and holds a post-graduate Diploma from City University, London.

ANDREW R. JONES is based in FKB's New York City office. Mr. Jones' practice focuses on professional liability and insurance coverage matters. Mr. Jones' practice includes the direct defense of lawyers and other professionals, as well as monitoring local counsel and protecting insurers' interests in professional liability matters, including coverage analysis and coverage litigation. Mr. Jones has drafted various insurance policy forms for international insurers, and has advised on coverage matters both in the U.S. and abroad. Mr. Jones represents the Lloyd's insurance market in the World Trade Center/September 11, 2001 liability insurance coverage litigation in the Southern District of New York.

Born in Essex, England, Mr. Jones began his insurance career in 1998, working in the North American Department of a Lloyd's of London insurance broker. Mr. Jones is a graduate of Kings College London, School of Law, where he received an LLB law degree with honors. In 2001, Mr. Jones began working for a general liability law firm in New York City. In 2003, Mr. Jones accepted a job with an established New York City professional liability law firm where he successfully defended insurers, lawyers and other professionals in various State, Federal and Appellate Court proceedings. Andrew joined FKB in 2008 and has continued to develop his professional liability and insurance coverage practice for both U.S. domestic and international clients. Most recently, Mr. Jones argued successfully before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and obtained dismissal of a legal malpractice action. Mr. Jones handles complex professional liability and insurance coverage cases, including large, high-exposure matters.
