Maria Novak, born in Kiev, Ukraine, is an associate attorney specializing in legal malpractice, professional liability, and general liability litigation.

Ms. Novak is a graduate of Cornell University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations in 2004. She earned her law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 2007. Since graduating, Ms. Novak practiced general litigation and matrimonial/family law with a general practice firm. Ms. Novak regularly litigated commercial matters along with family and matrimonial matters. Prior to joining FURMAN KORNFELD & BRENNAN LLP in 2009, Ms. Novak regularly handled Meetings of Creditors on behalf of bankruptcy debtors in the Eastern and Southern District Bankruptcy Courts.
