R. Evon Idahosa, born in Leeds, England, is a partner specializing in legal malpractice defense and other professional liability, including directors and officers' liability. Ms. Idahosa has considerable experience before the Courts of the State of New York at both the trial and appellate levels. Her practice also includes insurance coverage litigation which encompasses the representation of insurers in the U.S. and London markets in complex insurance coverage matters, including marine and non-marine risks and professional liability, as well as the drafting of insurance policies. Ms. Idahosa has also extensively served as both coverage and monitoring counsel on behalf of U.S. and London insurers.
Ms. Idahosa has authored and contributed to several articles on legal malpractice, insurance coverage and insurance defense, including "Identifying and Responding to Professional Liability Claims," Anatomy of a Legal Malpractice Claim, NYSBA Spring 2009. Ms. Idahosa, who is a member of the Professional Liability Committee of the Torts, Insurance & Compensation Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, is also a regular speaker for the New York State Bar Association's CLE program on Legal Malpractice.
Prior to joining Furman Kornfeld & Brennan LLP in 2008, Ms. Idahosa was in private practice with two national insurance defense firms in New York.
R. Evon Idahosa is a graduate of the University of Buckingham School of Law, where she received the honor of class Valedictorian. Ms. Idahosa is also a Barrister of England and Wales and holds a post-graduate Diploma from City University, London.
Ms. Idahosa became a partner of Furman Kornfeld & Brennan LLP in January 2010.
