Jan. 28, 2009: Mike Furman received the 2008-2009 "Outstanding Committee Chair of the Year" Award for his work as the Chair of the Lawyers Professional Liability and Ethics Committee for the Trial Lawyers Section of the New York State Bar Association.

Jan. 21, 2009: Patrick Brennan and Neil Kornfeld presented a mock trial to physicians at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, New York.  The case involved allegations that a defendant doctor failed to diagnose a patient's heart attack upon his presentation to the hospital.  The physicians were also instructed on basic risk management principles.
